The minor in Spanish requires SPAN 44 or 50 and six upper-division courses (i.e., numbered 100 or above) 101 is highly recommended. No more than two upper-division courses can be taken through Study Abroad in a Spanish-speaking country can be used for minor credit.

Students planning to minor in Spanish are expected to participate in departmental events, including Oldenborg activities and talks given by invited speakers. To declare the minor, students must fill out the Minor Declaration form available from the Registrar’s office, list the courses taken to fulfill the requirement and bring that form, along with an unofficial transcript, to the Spanish Section Coordinator for verification and signature. Once signed, a copy of the form is kept by the Coordinator and the original is filed with The Registrar.
